Having coffee yesterday on Church Street in BTV, basking in the chilly sun, when there was a fear flareup. Someone “reliable” insisted that there was now a case of H1N1– commonly known by the Muslim-unfriendly name (and pork industry saboteur) of Swine Flu– here in Vermont. In Middlebury. Before you knew it, tables started clearing, and hands started covering mouths.

Crazy.

So I found this. Scary in a global sense, reassuring locally:

An upside to this pandemic mania, however, has to be the smooth and fresh feeling of my hands after repeated washings!
